St. Elias Cathedral Organizations Meet With Bishops
Canadian Deanery Advisory Council Inaugurated
New Missions Growing in Ontario

During the canonical visitation to St. Elias Cathedral in Toronto, Ontario, members of the various parish organizations had the opportunity to meet with Metropolitan Stephan and Archbishop Michael.

Pictured below with the Bishops are members of the parish Brotherhood, Sisterhood, Parish Council and the newly-created Canadian Deanery Advisory Board. The board will play an active role in keeping the hierarchy appraised as to the needs and concerns of the churches in Canada and will help channel information about Metropolia events and programs.

The pastor of St. Elias Cathedral is the Very Rev. Archpriest George Ayoub, who is also the Dean of the Canadian Deanery of the Metropolia.

Father George has been active in the formation of three missions in Canada. He has been serving these communities each month and the growth in the number of faithful attending has been very promising. The hierarchs have given Father George their blessing to work for the establishment of a permanent parish that will serve the western part of the province of Ontario. More information will be posted in the near future.

There are currently over 1,000 faithful of the Metropolia in Canada which will necessitate the formation of new parishes during the upcoming months.
